This past season, 2009-10, the Titans were ranked number one in the NWAACC Coaches Poll throughout the entire season. In her 4 years at the helm, Spoja has sent 11 players on to 4 year colleges, including 1 player to a NCAA Division I school.
Spoja still plays competitive volleyball with her women’s team No Limit. They have spent many years dominating the region and have many regional titles. Coach Spoja goes to nationals each year to promote volleyball among other women, of all age groups. Spoja started her volleyball career at TCC. From TCC, Spoja received a scholarship from Eastern Washington University where she finished her college career. She then moved for a brief time to California to play beach volleyball, before moving home to start her family. She has played in the American Volleyball Professionals (AVP) and the AVP Next, which started in California to promote other cities like Seattle to support beach volleyball.
Spoja has focused on building a program in which Tacoma Community College players are recruited to play at four-year NCAA Division I and II programs. She is looking for players with strong work ethic, athletic ability, and the desire to learn. With more than fifteen years of coaching club volleyball, high school volleyball, and starting her career as a student coach at Eastern, has prepared her very well for the task ahead at Tacoma Community College.
